Hardwood flooring in Metro Atlanta

Metro Atlanta's hardwood work splits pretty evenly into two categories. There's the historic side — Craftsman bungalows in Virginia-Highland, Grant Park, and Inman Park with original heart pine or oak under decades of carpet or paint, waiting to be sanded back to something worth looking at. And there's the new-construction side, where subdivisions and infill townhomes near the Beltline want fresh hardwood installed right the first time.

We do both, often in the same week. A refinish in a hundred-year-old bungalow calls for a different eye than laying new planks in a builder-grade townhome, and our crews move between the two regularly enough that neither one is a special case for us.

Solid hardwood is one material all the way through, which is what makes it refinishable multiple times over its life — it needs a wood subfloor, and we'll confirm yours during the estimate.

Refinishing only works on solid wood over a wood subfloor — it's not an option for floors glued down over a concrete slab, which describes a lot of newer construction. If your Metro Atlanta home has original solid hardwood over a wood subfloor, refinishing is usually the more affordable path to a like-new floor; if it doesn't, a new hardwood install or an LVP alternative is the better conversation to have.

It starts with a free in-home estimate: we bring hardwood samples, look at your subfloor and current flooring, measure every room, and answer the right-species question specific to your house. You leave that visit with a written quote, not a follow-up call three days later.

Once you approve the quote, we schedule the install or refinish, protect the surrounding areas, and our own crew does the work — sanding, staining, and finishing on-site for refinishing jobs, or acclimating and installing new planks for a full replacement. We walk the finished floor with you before we call the job done.
