Every fall our phones get busier with the same request: can we get new floors in before Thanksgiving or the holidays? Whether you're hosting in Peachtree City or welcoming family to a Tampa Bay home, the answer often depends less on the install itself and more on how quickly the decisions get made. Here's how we help homeowners plan backward from the big day.
Start with an in-home estimate
The quickest way to a decision is seeing full-size samples in your own light, next to your cabinets and furniture. On a free in-home visit we measure every room, talk through how each space gets used and give you one clear number. If you're still deciding between products, our LVP vs. hardwood guide and LVP cost guide are good homework beforehand.
Why LVP works well on a holiday deadline
Luxury vinyl plank is a floating, click-together floor, so in most homes it goes down over a properly prepped subfloor without long cure times. Rooms can typically be used again right after the crew finishes. Compare that with projects like hardwood refinishing, which needs drying time between coats. If you want new carpet in the bedrooms at the same time, that can usually be scheduled alongside the hard-surface work.
What can add time
- Special-order colors or plank sizes that aren't readily available
- Subfloor repairs or slab leveling discovered once old flooring comes up
- Stairs, which take more detailed cutting and fitting
- Large, multi-room projects that need more than one day

Our own installation crews handle the heavy lifting, but a little prep on your side keeps the day smooth. Box up breakables and décor in the work area, disconnect electronics, and plan a quiet room for pets. Hold off on putting up the tree or holiday decorations in rooms that are getting new floors - it's much easier to decorate once the trim is back on and the furniture is in place.
Leave yourself a buffer
We always suggest finishing at least a week before guests arrive. That gives you time to put rooms back together, add felt pads to chairs and enjoy the space before it fills up. Short on time? Focus on the rooms guests see most - the entry, kitchen and living room - and schedule bedrooms for January. If spreading out the cost helps, ask about financing during your visit, and read what neighbors say on our reviews page.
